Radical Self-Care in Radical Times - Strategies to Stay Centered When the World Feels Off-Balance

In this session, Dr. Luz Casquejo Johnston explores why self-care is essential for Montessori guides navigating today’s rapidly shifting world. Drawing from Montessori’s call for “preparation of the spirit,” participants will learn how rest, boundaries, and nervous-system regulation strengthen their capacity to lead calm, connected classrooms. Through practical tools - breathwork, healing practices, and designing non-negotiable rhythms - guides will discover how tending to their own inner landscape transforms the environment for children. This session offers grounded, actionable strategies to help educators sustain their purpose, presence, and joy while supporting 21st-century learners.
