Cultivating Peace in an Uncertain World: A Montessori Approach for Families
In a world that can feel scary, a future that can feel unpredictable, and our relationship with our planet in question, Simone Davies will be joining us to look at how we can bring the idea of peace education into our homes. Peace education is more than a peace table. It’s about helping children build peace within themselves, with others, and with the environment around them. Our work is not only to raise peaceful children but also to nurture peace within ourselves as Montessori adults - spreading calm, compassion, and positivity into the wider world.

Simone Davies
Simone Davies is an AMI Montessori educator since 2004. Simone Davies is the author of “The Montessori Toddler” and co-author of “The Montessori Baby” and “The Montessori Child” books, comprehensive guides to raising children in a Montessori way. She also has a popular blog, instagram and podcast “The Montessori Notebook” and is mother to two young adults.
Finding Montessori helped her so much when raising her own children and it’s now her passion to help other parents introduce these ideas in their homes too. She was looking to find a way to be with her kids that wasn’t about bossing them about, threatening them and bribing them. Or giving them free rein either. And she wanted them to have a positive experience of school, not just to pass tests, but to love learning.
Simone worked in the classroom for 22 years including running her own parent-child Montessori classes in Amsterdam at her school Jacaranda Tree Montessori. She is now living Montessori in daily life and continues to share her learnings online and through online workshops.

It’s always important to create peace and love the information you shared and some parents sadly will not understand what peace is because they are so busy in their lives and they don’t from how to calm down. But thank you for reinforcing what we should always be doing
It’s indeed such a busy time for young families. We can remind ourselves that it doesn’t have to be perfect, but to help our children find peace in themselves, with others, and the environment. ❤️
