It is also a time when you can establish the seeds for healthy emotional development that will support their long term mental health in the years to come. Join this session to learn how you can nurture your young child’s mental health using strategies grounded in developmental science and the Montessori method - approaches that honor the whole child, and the important role of the prepared adult.
Content in this session will introduce science-aligned and positive parenting strategies to support the child’s mental health from the earliest years in daily life, with resource to expand your learning in this area.

Blanca M. Velázquez-Martin, MA, LPC
Blanca Velázquez-Martin is a licensed psychotherapist with graduate training in Clinical Psychology, international certification as a Positive Discipline Parent Educator, and certification integration of the Montessori method at home. Informed by her clinical training and experience as a psychosocial research professional, she now supports children’s socioemotional development in early childhood through parenting consultations, therapeutic support for young children in the Dallas area, and consultation and training with Montessori school communities across the United States.
Her approach prioritizes preparing adults to build respectful, connected relationships with young children using tools grounded in developmental science and the Montessori philosophy. She integrates positive parenting, Positive Discipline, and the Montessori method to guide families toward approaches rooted in trust, independence, and understanding the child as a capable learner.
Originally from Mexico City and now raising her family in the United States, Blanca creates bilingual and culturally relevant resources for bilingual and bicultural families. She is the parent of a Montessori child, attended Montessori school as a child herself, and actively incorporates Montessori principles into her home and parenting - walking this beautiful journey right alongside you.
